Content ID

What is this?

YouTube Content ID is a system that helps content creators protect their copyrights. It compares new audio and video materials with those already in the database for matches. If matches are found, Content ID automatically sends a claim for the rights to this content on behalf of the copyright holder.

This way, you don’t have to monitor hundreds of thousands of videos for copyright infringement yourself.

What is the importance of copyright?

Copyright infringement, namely posting someone else's content under your own authorship for profit, is a serious violation of YouTube's rules.

If Content ID detects a copyright infringement, the offender's channel immediately receives a strike (a warning from the YouTube administration) and its reach, reputation and monetization begin to fall. If the channel receives 3 strikes from YouTube, it is automatically deleted by the system without the possibility of recovery.

How to avoid copyright infringement?

To ensure that  MC Pay partners do not violate copyrights, we provide free access to safe resources that you can use when creating videos:

— Music library Epidemic Sound;

— Service for creating optimal titles, descriptions and tags VidiQ Pro.

How to enable Content ID?

If you are sure that your content is 100% unique, you can protect it and your copyrights using Content ID.

To do this, go to the «Services» tab and select the «Content ID» section.

Click on the «Enable Content ID» button.

After successfully submitting your request, you will see a notification.

You can check the status of your request in the «My orders» section.

After enabling Content ID, we will add your selected materials to the system.

If violations of your copyright are detected, you will receive notifications and can choose what to do with such content:

— Block the entire violator’s video;

— Receive monetization of this video from the violator in your favor.
